Patients Rising Concierge gets a lot of questions about how to find transportation – in particular the “non emergency medical transportation” (NEMT) kind. We gathered all our top tips on how to find medical transportation in your area.
Call you insurance company
We know you don’t want to do it, but some insurance companies have contracts with transportation services in your area. You may even have transportation coverage as part of your plan. If so, insurance may cover all or part of the cost of your ride, so start by reaching out to them first!
If you have State Medicaid, you automatically qualify for non emergency medical transportation. While there may be restrictions on distance, your local Social Services Office should be able to help.

Your Doctor’s Office
Your doctor’s office may have transportation information too. Many offices are familiar with the struggles of getting to and from appointments. Some offices may keep a list of medical transportation and/or taxi services in the area.
Websites that curate NEMT information
Some sites like Trip Masters has a list of NEMT brokers that run nationally, regionally, and some individual state brokers.
