NEW RESOURCE HUB CONNECTS PATIENTS WITH MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION TOOLS

WASHINGTON – Patients Rising today announced the launch of a new online transportation resource hub for patients and caregivers seeking both emergency and non-emergency medical transportation. The resource center, “A Guide to Medical Transportation” includes tips and resources to understand, locate, and pay for medical transportation services.

Research shows that over 5 million individuals have postponed care due to a lack of access to reliable transportation. To help patients overcome this hurdle, Patients Rising’s new resource hub shares information on how to pay for a ride, options that are covered by insurance, and other patient experiences on securing transportation. The new resource offers both emergency and non-emergency transportation tips.

“After speaking with patients across the nation, we know that one of the biggest care struggles they face is simply getting to an appointment and seeing a doctor or pharmacist face to face,” said Terry Wilcox, Executive Director of Patients Rising. “We built this guide to help patients access reliable transportation to and from their appointments to ensure the best possible health outcomes.”

A Guide to Medical Transportation” can be found online at PatientsRising.org.
